Brianna Barillas-Chalmers
Parents: Oscar and Maria-Celeste. Sibilings: Amarilis, Consuelo, Oscar Simon, (Brianna), Ian , Marcos, Adam, Adrienne and Justin.
Synopsis prior to adulthood: Brianna had a great high school career. That is unless you count her meeting her boyfriend Neil Chalmers and discovers she is pregnant. She didnt know how to tell her mother but she did. The unfortunate thing happened though, her mom was on board but her father was upset.
Before she knew it she was was headed down the aisle and she became Mrs. Brianna Barillas-Chalmers. Things were good for them who were about to be teenage parents. Unfortuantely Brianna not only lost the baby but she also received the horrible news of the infection that now cause her to be sterile. Because of that they both decided to separate during college. With ther marriage in turmoil they went to college and graduated. Brianna was scared to find out what was going on in her marriage. Here is a picuture of their wedding day. 
After college Brianna decided to bite the bullet and buy a house. Most of her other brothers and sisters were opting for Apartments but she just couldnt do it. She has made up her mind that her and Neil were eventually going to call each other to end their marriage. After all throughout their college days he barely managed to talk to her. She was not upset. She realized that Neil needed to see if his marriage would survive not having kids. Brianna was set on adopting but she didn't bring herself to it yet. This is the house that just enchanted her. Her dad was still around and helped her finanlize that paperwork that made this house hers.
Brianna invited her family over at all times because she tried to fill the void in both her heart and home. Her mother Maria-Celeste was so excited that her daughter was moving on with her life. her father, Oscar on the other hand was a different story altogether. "So Brianna has Neil even called you to see you in your new house?" asked her father. Brianna answered, "Dad I told you. Neil and I are taking a break. I dont know if were going to be married or we are going to divorce. I have to let him decide if he wants to be with me. " Oscar huffed, "I think that this is his and your way of running away. If he doesnt make the decision then you do it. But this is ridiculous."
What her father and her family did not know is that Brianna had begun to see other people. She was tired of being taken for granted by Neil. No matter how much she tried to talk to him he would just refuse her calls. Nevermind that he took a job in the military career. So one day she met and went out to date Orlando Centowski. He gave her everything that Neil failed to do. As much as she wanted to let herself go she just couldnt. Soon Orlando asked to take things to the next level and Brianna sighed knowing that she could not forget that she was married. After much thought she told Orlando that she couldn't continue their relationship and that this would be the end of their "relationship". Orlando was a gentleman and said he understood. He did however say that he would love to continue their relationship if and when Brianna was ready. For this Brianna was more than grateful.
Neil finally agreed to see Brianna. He explained why he stayed away for so long. Neil explained that he was confused and wanted to make sure that he wanted her. You see since they got married so young..he felt as thought he didnt get a chance to get to know the real Brianna without the baby issues. After he felt that she was disappointed in him. It never occured to him that she may have issues with the miscarriage that they never discussed. For Neil being married at such a young age was not ideal. Now as adults he knew where his heart was. He talked to Brianna and without her expecting it he got down on one knee and proposed to her. Brianna felt two things: 1. she needed to tell him about Orlando and 2. she need to remind him that they were already married. But Neil told her, "I want the past to be the past. I dont want us to dwell or do confessionals. If you agree then we can move foward from here. So will you marry me?" Brianna felt her heart swell and answered, "YES!"
Brianna woke up the next day alone in bed. She feared that she had dreamed the whole night. But then she heard Neil's voice calling her down to breakfast. She exhaled and realized that her dream of being happy was becoming true one step at a time.
A few weeks later after Neil had settled down in their house he brought up the prospect of adopting. "I think we need to discuss adoption again, Bri. I vote for us to call the social worker and try to get them out here to see if we can adopt." Brianna was avoiding this conversation, " I just dont know. I dont want us to adopt and then we end up separating or something." "Come on Bri. I am serious I am in this relationship and we are together. Unless your telling me that you think differently." "No. I love you. Im so happy that were together and that were alone. Its different now. I do want to adopt. Let's do it. Lets get the social worker out here and see about our possibilities."
Brianna and Neil met with the social worker and they were inspired by the possibilities. The social worker did point out that their current marriage issues were a barrier. She even tried to reccommend for them to wait a year or two before actually attempting to adopt. Brianna looked sadden at her prospects for adoption dwendling. Neil turned things around and told the social worker how he felt and what he and they together. When the social worker left she told Brianna, " I think you two..well I hope that I am not making a mistake but I think that you two would make wonderful parents. I am going to push through the paperwork and expect a call regarding your new arrival. Congradulations"
"This is it. We are going to be parents. I can't believe it. " Neil responded, " I know right. I just hope that we are well..that we make good parents. I want the baby to be healthy. I mean we are getting a baby right?" "yes Neil, its a baby. Our lives have changed so much this season. I cant wait to see whats next." They both relaxed on the bed and enjoyed the few last moments of quiet they had left.
