Marcos Barillas---Chapter 3

Marcos Job: Police Chief ,age 27
Linda Chalmers-Barillas job: Lounge singer age 23

Linda did finally give birth. Keep in mind that Marcos is one of three that were born to his parents. Marcos was not surprise that Linda gave birth not to one but to four babies that night.

and finally Marcos is holding his baby girl Perla. They were both excited. To tell the truth Linda was scared out of her mind at thinking she would be able to handle all these babies.

Marcos made things work. They used the room next to theirs and added four cribs, a changing table and a refrigerator. It was an essential item and they had the money so why not? They paid the total of $14,000 birthing fee. Marcos did not have enough for that so he manged to get a loan. He wanted his kids to have everything in the world possible.

Marcos also managed to do much more around the house. With Linda being occupied with the babies it was his responsiblity to help keep their dogs clean. Marcos unfortunately began wondering if it was not better to give them up for adoption. It would be a last resort but having two big dogs required a lot of time and effort.

Keeping his yard up to par with the neighbors was even harder. He tried to keep everything trimmed and tidy but with quads? He was just happy to finally give his front walk a good cleaning.

A year later.

Finally you would think that surviving the newborn stage was wonderful right? Well your wrong. Linda and Marcos had a tough time trying to get these toddlers to stay out of trouble. Now with Linda still not back at work Marcos relented and hired a maid. He was a LOT of help. With Quads running around requiring constant attention they needed all the help they could get.

Linda took the quads to her job that she was still on maternity leave from. Her job miraculously saved her position as lounge singer but they told her that they needed her to come back. After all it had been over a year since she was back. She was sitting in the empty lounge with the kids when someone called her name. It turned out to be her ex- Jonah Powers. It seemed that he was back in town and was hoping to run into Linda again. he was just as shocked to see her surround by toddlers and with a wedding band on. He asked to take out her and her husband to dinner and catch up. Desperate for some adult conversation she agreed. She got home and instantly told Marcos.
"You want to go back to work?"
"why not? We can hire a nanny to help us when im at work. We need more money right? Well this will help us. Why are you so against it? My career is at a stand still. Im 24 and I should be on top of my singing career."
"But the babies are only a year old. Are you sure you want to leave them with strangers?"
"then you stay home. Marcos I do nothing but stay home with them. Well changing the subject. What about dinner with Jonah?"
"the guy you used to work with? Listen my job is pretty busy right now. Im the chief and I need to be around. If you want to go then ask two of my nieces to come over. I honestly cant go right now. Dont get mad. I need a promotion..."
"I know..its always about you Marcos....im done eating...and I will cancel dinner..as always."

A couple of months later Jonah came over to see why Linda was ignoring his calls.
"What up. Girl you know that I am trying to take you and your ghost of a husband out. Why did you stop receiving my phone calls?"
"Why? you know why. Jonah it was not proper of you to talk about Marcos like that. he is my husband. I know he hasnt been around...but I think I should have not said anything to you."
"You told me because you want me to be there for you. Come on Linda you mean to tell me this is your scene? What happened to you? When we were on tour together we were on top of the world. Remember? We didnt know where we would end up. Look im going on tour again. I need you to go with me. We can go to Europe, Asia and Australia...come on. I need you."
"I cant. I have a family... I can ask Marcos..but that would put us in an akward position. I dont want you to tell me what you told me last time we talked."

Jonah moved closer.
"Dont"
"what? Linda I still love you. You were supposed to be with me and only me. Why didnt you just wait I would have finished the tour and we would have been together forever. Instead you come to this hell hole of Viramontes and your stuck in a marriage with four kids. Come with me I love you. I will give you everything your heart desires. You wont want for anything and you can even send money for your kids. Your husband will understand. I know that you feel our connection. We were each other's first and only. Your still my only... come here."
"No...I cant...I wont.... Im married now."

"shut up and come here. Oh god I have missed you."
Without thinking Linda just let herself go. She had missed this. this feeling of being wanted of being the most important thing in the world. There was nothing better than having someone worship you. Once again she felt independant. The chains of her marriage were sliding off as her vows were being broken.
"come with me"

They were slightly interrupted by linda's maid who was shocked to see what he saw. he thought this couple to be happily married but then again looks are not what the truth was.
"Ma'am your children are crying and asking for you. Sorry to um... interrupt you."
"No..its Ok. Jonah..I have to go."
"think about it. ask your husband if you want but come with me. I promise you the time of your life."
"OK fine..ill think about it."


Later that evening Linda sat home with dinner on the table. She had called Marcos to make sure he was coming. He said he was but as always dinner was getting cold. She decided to eat and as she ate the guilt started eating away at her.

Months later......

Marcos was sick and tired of getting hangups in his own home. If it wasnt bad enough this Jonah guy called way too many times for Linda recently. He didnt know what but something was going on. Just the other day Linda kept mentioning this tour that Jonah had going on... there was no way he would agree with her leaving their kids. Maybe he would agree for her to go back to work but on tour with this guy. Hell no. These were the times of Linda's past life that Marcos knew nothing about until he asked her.

Linda had been distant. What Marcos didnt know is that Linda had now been having an affair with Jonah for over 3 months. This is why she was now more anxious than usual. All she thought about was Jonah and her kids. She didnt even think about Marcos that much anymore. She wondered what she saw in him that attracted her so. She knew that she loved him but she wasnt in love with him. Linda had decided recently to go on tour with Jonah. She just didnt get the chance to tell Marcos yet. Jonah kept calling and calling. Linda didnt want Marcos to know fo their affair but to Jonah it was important for the world to know.

Marcos finally cornered Linda and asked about all the mysterious calls she made in their office and their hiring of a nanny that he wasnt consulted on.
"I didnt tell you because your never around. Dont go snooping and trying to find out what imdoing. IM not doing anything."
"Linda im a detective I know when something is wrong. You and I havent been together in bed for a long time and now you hired a nanny.. my kids are being neglected. What is going on?"
"Fine you want to know what is going on? Fine. Im going on tour with Jonah. All those calls were his confirming each and every place that were going to. Once my tour is done then I will come back and we can discuss this further."

"what? You know what linda! Grab your shit and go! I am tired of working to the bone for you to sit around and hire people left and right to do things your supposed to do. If you wanted to go back to work as a lounge singer I was going to tell you to go ahead but no. You want to go on tour with your little boy toy then go ahead. I know you and "Jonah" have something special. Thats fine. What you could have done is bring your adult 24 year old self to me and tell me that you wanted out. You think that I dont sit at work hoping you are OK with the kids. That I hope and pray that Simon or Bri will take them so that I can take you on a second honeymoon? Allt hat is trashed because you think all I think of you is as stay home mom with no future. Linda the reason I dont stay home is because I make more. If you made more then I would have stayed at home. Trust me."

"Marcos, why didnt you tell me this. you had me thinking that you didnt care. I can cancel the tour with Jonah..."
"No you made your choice. Grab your stuff now or tomorrow when were not here but your leaving. You are now out of my life. You can see the kids after your tour. GET OUT!!!!!"
"Marcos....dont im.."
"GET OUT. This is what you wanted ..here it is. Get out!"

Linda did leave and Marcos felt this house emptier than ever. He still had his babies and thats all that would matter to him.

Ian Barillas-Chapter 3

Ian Job: Tire Changer, Age 27, his wife Debbie King-Barillas job: Legal Secretary, age 37
Their children: Twins, August and Julio age 11

Debbie was loving this pregnancy. Finally she enjoyed a pregnancy without having to deal with too much morning sickness. She was almost at full term. Now that their family was expanding by hopefully just one more baby she needed to talk to Ian about finances. Ian is her junior by 10 years so there is some immaturity there. Debbie sometimes looks at Ian and realizes that he is maybe frustrated with not having that much money. Literally having their twins, August and Julio vanished their savings. Now they barely made ends meat. Ian left his previous job a while back to work in a garage. This move was not bringing in that much cash. With Debbie being pregnant..well the maternity leave is not paying that well either. They were on the verge of being broke and with Ian constantly staying out after work was causing them to get more low on cash. She needed to sit him down and talk to him. When this baby came and she prayed it would be a single birth, they needed to be ready.

Ian came home and Debbie decided to talk to him about their financial situation.
"Debbie..You think that I dont know that were poor. Look at us. Were literally living in a small ass two bedroom studio apartment. Where is the new baby or babies going to fit? Who knows..Oh god dont tell me our room?"
"yes our room. Ian... the baby or babies will need to stay in our room. I am not going to subject the twins to hearing a baby cry at 4am."
"How did it get this bad. It seemed that only yesterday we got married were having a good time and now we have two kids that constantly need something and one on the way!"
"Its the same for me too. You think that it helped me losing my teaching career? Of course not. Look we just have to stop a little bit on the partying after work."
"Im not partying..im trying to get a better work gig. Im trying to learn things so that I can move up."
"and thats great.. but I need you to stop spending our money. we barely managed to pay the $1,300 tax bill and it will cost $4000 for the birthing fee if its only one. Come on Ian I need you to help both financially and with the kids."
"I know.. im just tired of being cooped up here day and night..night and day. Dont you ever get tired?"
"No..because I have no choice. These are our children.Its not a chore for me to be with them. Besides we go to your sister's Bri house what more do you want?"
"I wanted to know what this whole marriage deal was about before I got in it...im going to bed".
Debbie looked at him walking away and her fear of making this marriage work began growing more and more.

Ian tried to come home right after work so he was there for the birth of their son, Darcy. It was a single birth and both parents let out a sigh of relief. Debbie still could not believe that she was surrounded by boys. She was finally happy to be able to have her little baby in her arms.

Ian began to help the twins more. He played with them and even managed to supervise and help them with their homework. It was hard for Ian since he was still tempted at work to hang out. But he also knew that he had responsibilities. Now that he didnt go out that much they were able to save a little bit of money. He just protected himself because he didnt want to get Debbie pregnant again.

This is what Debbie enjoyed about being a mom to a baby boy. She loved this stage when she could bathe them, talk to them and feed them. As soon as Darcy would grow up she was sure he would want to be with Ian all the time. When the boys grew up Debbie would sometimes feel lonely with not having a little girl to play with.

Before she knew it little Darcy was now a year old. He loved getting into everything. This apartment was getting too small and Debbie and Ian would soon have to either move to an apartment or buy a house. The way the finances were going it would probably be another apartment. Ian was doing good for almost a year but then he got bored and began staying out after work. It pained Debbie to Ian so distant. Now that Darcy was a year old he would call for his daddy a lot. The twins even started to noticed their father was not around much any more. Maybe he really was working a lot.. who knew. She was too focused on making sure she was raising her kids correctly.

The boys were getting bigger too. They were now 12 and they were getting bored of just staying at home. They would go outside where Debbie could keep watch on them. Soon they would be teens and they would need Ian to guide them on their way to manhood.

As Debbie helped Darcy learn his first steps she planned how to talk to Ian again about his staying out too much. She needed to again remind her husband who acted like another of her children to get it together. His family needed him more now than ever.

Round 1-7

I decided to do rounds to keep things more organized. I recently found out that my family Barillas had some family members with more chapters than others. To prevent this I have started with round 8. I will still label the stories with individual names but also with the number of the round it belongs to. I am sure no one reads this..but if you do tell me what you think...

Brianna Barillas-Chalmers Chapter 3

Brianna Barillas-Chalmers, age 27 and Neil Chalmers age 28.

Neil was peparing a quick snack for himself and his brother-in-law Marcos. Marcos was Neil bff after his marriage to Brianna. Neil was happy that he got along with Brianna's family. After their he patched things up with Brianna it was hard for him to get back in. Marcos was the only one that stood up to the family and befriended him again so quickly.

"So whats new bro? I mean how's my sis? I havent seen her lately with her big city council job."
"tell me about it Marcos. Shes getting better. Were having a barbecue hopefully you guys will be able to make it. Maybe you can even bring Linda since its been a while since she came."
"Ya with her being pregnant I dont know that she would want to."

It was a wonderful spring evening and they were having a wonderful barbecue.
Linda did come feeling as if she had been pregnant forever. Brianna loved talking to her family and finding out the lastest gossip. Brianna even invited Amarilis, Melody, Justin and his wife Lashawn were also over.

"So Marcos the baby is due any minute huh?"
"Ya. I cant wait because she is literally dying to give birth. She's so crabby. How bout you Justin when are you guys planning on having one?"
"Ugh..I dont know. Lashawn and I are busy trying to get our careers and shop up and running. Right now the only kids are her students at the university where she lectures."

For Brianna it was not only work and play. it was important for her to remain healthy. After all having that near death experience when she was a teen left her with the will of being fit. Sometimes Niel accompanied her in her work out but today he was busy going over some paperwork for his job.

Yet another party at the Chalmers household. This time they had a dinner and invited people that didnt come to their barbecue. This time her guests were Ian and his wife Debbie and even Consuelo managed to come to have some fun. Brianna loved having get togethers. It was a good thing that Neil also loved having people over.

Brianna finally managed to have her brother Adam over for lunch. Brianna had the day off so she thought this would be a great opportunity for them to catch up. Brianna felt horrible when she was told of her sister Adrienne's death. As much as she wanted to be close to Adrienne it was hard. Adam on the other hand kept in touch with Brianna. Now Adam turned to Brianna when ever he needed advice.

"How are thing with you and Neil Bri?"
"They are fine. How about you? Are you still dating..."
"No, guess what. I get Simon over to tell him that I am needing to get a ring for her....right. I am getting everything ready and she goes and does the ultimate....she actually tells me she has an announcement. Her annoucement? Kaylynn tells me that she is moving and that our relationship might have been produced out of my sorrow over Adrienne's death. I couldnt believe it. Shes gone now and well im happier"
"I can't believe she would say that. Ugh.. Im so sorry Adam. At least she told you before you actually proposed right?"
"can you imagine if I would have? I would have been so embarrassed."

"I like your new hair do...you look sexy baby."
"Thank you. So how was work?"
"same ol same ol. What you do today?"
"I invited Adam for lunch then I went to the salon."
"thats nice. I wanted to talk to you about something over dinner...are you game?"
"ya whats up"

"I love our life together Bri. I really do. I just well I dont want to feel that were stuck."
"stuck? what do you mean. Were having fun were getting to know each other more."
"We have been married and back together for over two years. I think its time we thought about having children"
This has always been a sore subject for Brianna. Neil knew this but he had to tackle his need of wanting a baby. Brianna became sterile due to a miscarriage when she was a teen this was the reason that Neil had married Brianna prior to college. After college he returned and they rekindled thier marriage.
"You know I cant.. What you want to leave me or god.. did you get someone pregnant?"
"Bri, relax. I am just asking...well im putting it out there. I wouldnt be too against adopting. do you think we can possibly go that route. I dont know how you feel about kids now .."
"You know that I would love to adopt. I have thought about that ever since I graduated. OK then lets adopt. I still have my paperwork at the adoption agency. It would be just adding your name."
"OK then.. I guess were due to be parents."

a year later.....................

OK Mr. Chalmers..Here she is. What are you going to name her?"
"My wife and I have decided to name her Taylor"
"thats a nice name. I will go ahead and register the name for you. I hope that you give Taylor the life that she was intended to have. If you and Mrs. Chalmers ever think of adopting again we hope you choose us. We are always looking for parents like you two that are willing to open their homes and hearts."
"We will definitely contact you. For right now lets just see how we do with this precious baby."

Neil was finally a father to a beautiful girl named Taylor. He just couldnt believe that he too would now finally be called daddy.

Brianna doted on Taylor at all times. Her major concern was trying not to spoil such a lovely baby girl. Brianna never thought that she would feel this love. She cherished every moment with her new born daughter.

Oscar Simon II--Generation 2- Chapter 7

Oscar Simon age 35, Brandi his wife, age 35,
Their children: Melody Sofia age 17 and Oscar Joshua III, age 6

Brandi and Oscar's niece Lizandra came over to visit. During dinner they began to discuss the possibilities of having a vacation. Lizandra felt a little akward since her own family was unable to afford a vacation at this time. Brandi realizing her mistake appologized and quickly changed the subject. Much like the rest of the family Brandi was happy to see that Consuelo's kids were comfortable enough to visit the rest of the family. Brandi and Oscar offered to help Consuelo during the time of her divorce but Consuelo had refused.

Simon loved spending time with his son. He wanted to make sure that not only Joshua but that Melody Sofia had everything that he could possibly afford. For right now Simon had the looming debt of his family over his head. As legacy heir it was his responsibility to pay everything off and hopefully not pass on any debt to his own son Joshua. The debt that Simon was trying to pay off was $191,000. It was a lot but with his job he was sure he would be able to do it. Joshua had mentioned that they were talking about having a family vacation and that his mom really wanted one. Simon had promised a long time ago to have a vaction but with the recent events had decided against it. He thought, "why not" and decided to inform the family that they would indeed go on vacation. This time they would go on a mountain vacation.

Brandi was ecstatic that they were finally going on vacation and yes after months of planning the day was finally here.
"alright everyone has their suitcases packed right? I hope so because when daddy comes home were off."
Brandi wanted this vacation to relax but also to spend time as a family with Melody since she was soon heading off to college.

they arrived at the hotel and Brandi quickly reserved two cabins. One for the kids and one for her and Simon.

The Barillas family didnt waste any time. Soon it was Brandi versus Oscar on the log rolling thing a majig. Both of them were so competitve that by the time they got off of it they both had wrinkled body parts.

Melody sofia herself was busy getting her skills ready for the axe throwing contest. She liked this vacation but hated the cold weather. She wished this coldness would go away but the locals said it would be still a few weeks.

During their stay Simon and Brandi got reaquainted with each other. They felt the stress just melt away.
"I could be like this forever Simon"
"I know. I love you so much Brandi. I mean it really. Im just glad that we managed to stay together through thick and thin you know. Im happy that you have helped me with my family and their crisis."
"Its my family too. They didnt look away it was my time of need. Wow we have been married over 18 years. Has it been good for you?"
"Of course it has. You were and still are my high school sweetheart Brandi. Come here."
"careful or we will be changing diapers again."
"We never really discussed it but do you ever think about having another one?"
"Sure I do Simon..but right now can we afford it? Lets put it this way. Im not preventing anything from happening...so if it happens...well it happens."
"Hmm I love your way of thinking..."

They managed to come out of the cabin to join their kids doing the "slap dance" sure Simon didnt catch the meaning of it but he was game.

As it all does..the trip had to come to an end. Great thought Melody..now that it was getting warmer they had to go.
"Well I hope everyone enjoyed themselves"asked Brandi,.
"I did mom. Im just going to miss these things when I am away at college."
"Dont worry Melody your life is going to change so much. When your mom and I were away at college our life had a whole new meaning. I just hope that you use the time away to really find a direction..that is if you dont have one already."

While their parents were checking out Melody and Joshua started playing around. Their favorite game was redhands. Melody was going to miss her little brother. they did get along despite their 11 year age difference.

That night when they got home the kids just fell asleep as soon as they put their luggage away.
Simon went up and tucked Joshua in for the night.
"dad...."
"yes son."
"I love you and mommy and Melody. Im going to miss her."
"We all are. Dont worry she will be back before you know it OK."
"OK."
