Oscar Simon Barillas---Chapter 6

I could hear my daughter and wife whisper something about the vacation house. No matter how hard Brandi tries to keep our traveling plans a secret, I always find out. I only hoped that what they had up their sleeve would not be as bad as their other plans. I was busy trying to brainstorm for my novel project. As much as I tried to concentrate, I could not amid the constant whispering. I yelled, "Whats going on in there? I can hardly hear myself think".

Brandi and Melody had come up with the idea to vacation at our vacation home. At first Melody wanted to borrow the house. I thought that it would not be such a great idea. After all Melody has only been to our house once and I doubt that she would not get lost. In the end, I agreed for all of us to take a break from our hectic lives and go on vacation. I was not making any progress on my book so I figured I was due for a change of scenery.

I am always grateful that despite their age differences, Melody and Joshua have always gotten along. I see so many tragic stories at my job about family arguing for whatever little reason. I thank my lucky stars every day that my nucleus of family is small but supportive of one another.

Melody helped iron out the details of the pending vacation. In a blink of an eye she called Joshua (her husband) to confirm that he could get the time off. I was glad that I was going to take vacation with my daughter and new son-in-law.

We packed our bags and off we went to our vacation home for some much needed rest and relaxation.

After everyone got settled in, we had a little breakfast to plan how our days would be spent. We had four days to enjoy the home. I already knew that my son-in-law Joshua would like to do all the scuba diving activities while I just wanted to relax.

On our last day there, everyone was pretty much tired of the confined space. I realized that I needed to save money to build an extra room here. As of now we have room just for ourselves and Joshua.
Everyone used the last day to do things that they wanted to do. Joshua (my son) got some sun rays with my wife Brandi.

I on the other hand indulged in my favorite activity. "yes thats the spot right there...ahhhh". I loved getting stone massages. I could not believe that this luxury was not available at home. The masseuse told me that she could teach me this massage but I didnt have the brain to learn anything new. I was on vacation for crying out loud.

We finally said goodbye to each other and Melody mentioned that she had a great time. They left a little early because her husband had to work. As they left I thought about how this was probably the last vacation with both my kids. Next time it would just be Brandi and myself.

At home it was no vacation. Now that I am 40 I tend to pack on the pounds rather quickly. My clothes are fitting tighter and I refuse to let this big belly be my owner. I told Joshua that I needed to work out and burn some stress and calories. My son agreed to join me. There is something different with working out with someone and working out alone.

Thank goodness that I had quite a few ideas for my second novel. I just hope that it sells well. Brandi was just happy to be home safe and sound.

Consuelo Barillas--Chapter 10

Consuelo (40), Maura (40)
Children: Audrina, Jacquelyn, Lizandra and Lauren (17)

This is the look of happiness? No its actually the look of panic. My daughters are all crazy with wedding plans. I never knew how it would be having three girls getting married on the same day would be.

Lizandra and Orlando seem to be dying to be married. They also love that they will be sharing a college dorm together as spouses. I think that they would be happy but I do worry about them.

My brother Simon came by and he was happy to see that my business was thriving. I too am happy but I am wondering how it will run when its just me. The girls help me out a lot and I am a little scared of running it on my own. I may even hire someone to help me out a bit.

The wedding day arrived and every one was all nerves. Audrina was supposed to go first but she insisted to go last. I dont know what she is planning but we could not have the family wait too long.

Opal and Jacquelyn were married first. Maura and I were tearing up just at looking at their happiness.

Lizandra and Orlando were married next. They vowed to spend the rest of their lives together. I just hope that their love will take them college and the rest of their lives. After this we took a mini break because Audrina was still not ready.

I saw that Lauren and Alon stepped aside and they were talking for quite a bit. The next thing I saw really shocked me.

Alon bent his knee and proposed marriage to Lauren. Lauren shaking her head said yes. She looked at me and Alon asked if they could be married next. What could I say? I told them that we would give our blessing and they should go ahead. Maura was beyond tears to say anything.

Alon promised to forever love Lauren. He kissed her and they were husband and wife.

Finally it was time for Audrina and Sinjun to get married. I saw that they were arguing earlier but still they were at the alter.

We were all shocked when Audrina said "No, I will not get married to you. This wedding is off".

Audrina ran to Jacquelyn and started crying. She still didnt want to talk to anyone.

After all the drama was over, Audrina and Sinjun talked. Sinjun left and he told me that he was sorry for the embarrassment.

The cabs arrived and Audrian, Lizandra, Orlando and Lauren left for college.

The next morning, Maura and I were just at the table alone. Next thing I knew that Maura would start to think of grandbabies. I still couldnt believe that we would even be near grand parent age! Maura still couldnt stop, while I was ready to change the topic.

Consuelo Barillas--Chapter 9

The first thing Maura and I did was to get remarried. We did not have a big wedding, we just decided to have a simple civil wedding at home. It was really quiet because we wanted it to be known to us.

The girls noticed right away that we were married. I was excited because the girls all approved of our marriage. Now that the girls are teens, well they are officially allowed to date. It seemed that I barely let the words out of my mouth and everyone began dating.

The first was Audrina. The first of the quads. I know that his name is Sinju and that they met at the mall. He is about 17 and he loves our daughter like crazy. He comes almost every day to our house and our business. I think that he and Audrina are taking this thing way too fast but we shall see how it goes.

Even Maura was a little worried when she caught them in a bedroom kissing. I told her that bedrooms were off limits. I just hope that she does not wind up pregnant before her time. I want both Sinjun and her to be happy.

Jaquelyn met Opal at high school and before we knew it she proposed to her. I could not believe that Jaq and Opal moved so fast. I just hope that she knows what she is doing.

Lizandra began dating Orlando Bertino. They met at freshman year and the flames of interest didnt start until Sophmore year. Now they too are inseparable. It is amazing to me how they first started so slow and now they are always inseparable.

Finally the baby of the family, Lauren. She met our new contractor Alon Santaner and they hit it off quite quickly. He is 19 and trying to start his career in construction. I hope that they just take it slow.

As we thought the waves of love finished... it seems as though Sinjun proposed to Audrina. I didnt think that it was a wise choice but there is nothing that we could do. Maura approved and there was no standing in the way of love.

Audrina came and she told us the wedding plans were to begin. I just want to make sure that my girls are all happy. We sat down and watched some TV. I just hope that this is not more than we bargained for.

Isabel Barillas--Chapter 2

Isabel (20)

College life sucks. I did drop out although my moms were so against it. I tried to come back with a new attituge and maybe continue college but it was a no go.

I ended up moving out of Aarons house and moving into a shared house. I thought Aaron and the quads were bad? These two were worse. I could not even get anything done. I tried to look for a job but everything was part-time designed for college students.

After a year of getting no where, I decided that it was time to head back to viramontes and call it a life.

I finally came back to Viramontes and I was happy to find this small apartment. I didnt think I could find one yet I did. I saw this one and I loved it. I had to get it ready since my moms would soon come over and judge it like crazy.

I decided to get out to the night club scene and see how its going. How odd and awful is it that my uncle Ian was there? I didnt think that he would even visit a club since he was caught cheating and now is about to marry the woman carrying his child.

I guess he read my thoughts because he told me that he was not there to cheat. He was there to take some stress off. It had been a long time since I hung out with Uncle Ian but it was cool. I left soon telling him I had to work the next day.

My moms came home and they were excited about my place. My mom Amarilis was shocked to see that my apartment was tidy. She had no clue that I had spent about 5 hours cleaning.

My mom Meadow was excited that I was out living on my own. I am just happy that I found some point of common ground.

What really surprised me is that Candice Perry came to see me at my new apartment. I thought that she was going to move to another city. She told me that she decided to move to Viramontes and to see if I was still single.

We went out on a few dates and the chemistry between us was so strong. I wanted to kiss her so bad but I didnt know how I was supposed to do it. I wanted to kiss her and well... I just decided to do it.


One thing lead to another and we ended up in bed. I know that we both are young but it feels great having a girlfriend.

Now we are officially dating and it feels great to have Candice in my life. I just hope that we are happy as my parents are.
