Finally the house seems empty with just our baby Arthur at home. It's amazing to me to think that Aaron and Isabel are off in college and were now here. I never thought that we would be able to spend quality time together without being interrupted. We miss our grandkids but even more missed the quietness of the house.

When we finally decided to go down to have breakfast we were surprised by Isabel. I ran and hugged her. My baby girl had been away and she looked so skinny. How can these college kids not remember to eat? I remember when I was in college all I did was eat!

Immediately we sat down and Amarilis joined us. I need to tell you that Amarilis is so strict with their education. Right away she feared the worst and asked Isabel the reason for her visit. I on the other hand was just happy to see my daughter.

After interrogating Isabel, Amarilis went outside to see if her new garden was ready. It seemed dim but at least she was making progress.

Poor Arthur was busy in his room and was excited to hear that his older sister was home for a visit. Arthur was still getting used to his life as a single child.

Once Aaron came to visit, then the truth was known. It turns out that Isabel had dropped out of college. Amarilis was livid. She could not believe that Isabel would lie and say that she was on spring break. Aaron looked a little too happy to destroy Isabel's plan. they usually got along but something must have changed.


Amarilis told Isabel that she was going to march back to school. Isabel yelled back that she was done with school. I wanted to step in and try to sort things out but just couldnt. Finally they both retreated to their corners and relaxed a bit.

I convinced Amarilis to go in the hot tub with me. I told her that Isabel was old enough to make her decisions. She didnt want to hear it but she knew I was right. Besides I made it known that I was pregnant. Amarilis thought we were done having kids and so did I. I stopped using birth control and surprise I am pregnant. Were both 38 and we are now sure this will be my last pregnancy.

We told the family and all were more shocked than surprised. Arthur loved the idea of finally having someone to play with. I just hope that he feels that way when his baby sister or brother are here.

amarilis went in to make sure Arthur didnt feel like he was being replaced or anything. For Amarilis Arthur was and still is her baby boy.

we all spent time making sure Arthur was OK with the new baby. And now that Isabel was home...she even doted on him more.

Before we knew it, I had given birth. To our surprise I gave birth to not one but three babies. Amarilis was not surprised since she was a triplet herself. We have decided to name the babies: Jullieta, Ramon and Raquel.

Aaron and Isabel Barillas Ch. 1

Yes we finally made it to college. In the beginning, it was my twin brother Aaron always moping around for his wife Heather. I really don't understand how they are supposed to both finish college but they are. I think that its best for them to work things out. Before I knew it, it was all of us living here together. All of us in this small crowded house and trust me its crowded.

at first it was fun seeing my brother become an actual parent. I do not think both of them did not know how it was going to be. Now that my moms are not here to take care of the kids..well its a whole different ball game. Do not get me wrong. I love my nieces and nephews but I also love my peace and quiet.

I have no idea how Heather does it all. The burden of the quads seems to fall on her than my brother. The other day I caught her studying at 5 in the morning.

Contrary to Heather I was another story. I barely could keep up with the studying and going to class. The noise with the kids was so unbearable at times.


I had enough and I told him and Heather that I was going to go back home to visit for a while. After all it was the end of our sophmore year and I was ready to get the hell out of this house. Aaron looked like I was going to go and snitch on him to our parents. I didnt think that at all. All I wanted to do was to go home to peace and quiet!

Linda Chalmers (ex of Marcos barillas) ch. 3

I look at Pearla and I am amazed at how much she has grown. I spend the most time with her because she is my baby girl. The boys keep asking for their dad but now they realize that im their mom.

The quads are here with me for their planned stay. It hurts me when I have to give them to Marcos but soon they will be older and hopefully understand that we do this for their benefit. For now the new activity table I bought them gives them plenty to do.

I still work as a lounge singer and am trying to get another record recorded thus meet my new nanny. She is awesome with my children. She should be for the $20,000 fee I paid to find her. She is all the help I could ask for.

My ex-sister-in-law Amarilis came by to see how I have been doing. I know that she wants me to feel welcomed to the family. I know that no one really has ousted me but I dont feel as though I belong. I tried to tell her that but she was clueless. If it were not for my kids trust me I would no longer have anything to do with the Barillas family. Don't get me wrong. They are all nice but its over whelming being a Barillas and their legacy lifestyle. I still remember how Marcos would love to have them all over and it was way too much to bear. This is when I thank god for my small apartment and not needing to have to host a party.

In the mornings I help get breakfast ready while the nanny helps feeding and clothing the kids. I know it may seem like im not a hands on mom but in reality I am. I have been busy teaching them how to use the potty and trust me it is no easy task.

The days that I have to record the nanny stays at home alone with them. I do not know how Marcos does it without a nanny. Of course as of now he is unable to afford one. I on the other hand have money saved up from my tour that I can. If it werent for my savings then I would be in Marcos' boat.

The night before Marcos had to pick them up we tucked them and wished them good night. I have informed the nanny that I would have to let her go. I was sad because she is such a great help but I simply cannot have her stay on just to be a maid. I am not that well off.
She was saddened because she grew to love my kids. I just hope that she finds another job. I heard that Dylan Barillas just had twins, maybe he could use her. I guess I can use my old "barillas connections" to get her a new job.

After its all said and done I have to get back to the routine of being on my own. It wierd being able to finally get back to my work out routine. next time the Quads stay with me they will be 5 years old. I cant believe it.

Melody Sofia Barillas- Chapter 3

I am back in school and im finally a Junior. I thought that this day would never come. I have to admit that my studies are going better than I thought I would.

I am still learning how to do more than a robot in my electronics class. At first I thought it would be so simple but trust me, its not. I will be glad next year when all my classes focus more on architecture aspect.

In case you were wondering, yes my study research time is still active. I am still studying with Cory Barrett who is also a Junior. We have more freshman coming in and they are happier than we were. Right now I am focused on graduating on time.

In our architecture seminars we have to post our work in order to see our progress. I stood before my freshman work and I am amazed at how long ago it was. I cant believe that Senior year is almost here and then it will be me living in the real world.

Finals are tonight and I have been crunching to finish my research paper for architecture seminar. I know my paper is good but I want it to be better. I cant wait til this year is over with. Its so stressful being in college!

Ruben and I are still dating each other. He has graduated and it seems that we are drifting apart. He has managed to find a place in Viramontes but he has not found a job. I do not know if this is what I want. He comes to visit quite often but it seems that our worlds are so apart.
I told him this and he figured that I needed space. It almost seemed that he was reading my mind. He told me that he would give me Senior year to explore and to make sure that our relationship is what I wanted. I thought this was considerate of him but at the same time I think he too wants his freedom. I guess for now we just take a break. I hope that I am not making a mistake.

I decided that I was not going to think about Joshua and I was going to concentrate on my studies. Why is it that now that I am single I wish I were not? I remember thinking how I wanted not to have someone bothering me when I am writing my papers. Now I wish my phone would just ring. Oh well.

Cory invited me to go to the park and get some air. We have not talked about our relationships since we got back to school. Our main priority was to get our coursework done. It seems that he is single as well. I dont know why or how I got the nerve but I told him how I had a major crush on him Freshman and Sophmore year. He was shocked to hear it. He liked me too but figured that I would not be interested in someone like him. Are you kidding me?

"I can not believe that you liked me Melody. Do you think that this could maybe I dont know. Maybe we can try to see if the spark still exists?"
"I dont know. I mean now its different."
"Do you still like me?"
"I guess. I thought differently then than I do now."
"Or you werent in love with Joshua then as you are now"
When he said that I just got quiet and suggested that we leave to get back to what else? Studying.

When we were leaving he caught my hand and swung me towards him. Before I could even stop him he was kissing me. Did you ever feel that you wanted to outlive something you thought about for ever? I thought that this would have been the dreamiest kiss I had. It was so bad I had to hold my breath. What to do? I couldnt yank myself away. When he was finally done I just said, "We have to get back. "
"Are you sure Melody"
"Yes, Cory I have a paper due."

Finals were rough. I never thought that it would be this hard. I had a three building project due and my paper was getting thin from my erasing and rewriting on it.
Some poor guy looked at me and I almost snapped at him. I needed to concentrate and not have him staring at my project!

Finals were over and we were waiting for our grades. I have never been so nervous in my life. Cory managed to corner me and asked me what was wrong. He wanted to ask me out and see if I was moving back home or staying on campus. I still could not believe that I ever thought I would like this guy.
I told him that I was not looking to start anything serious. He got a little upset but I just wanted to get out of there. Later I got to my room and Joshua called to see if I would meet him to talk about us. I was so nervous when I said, "I would love to meet you".

We talked about everything. I was amazed at how much he had changed. It had only been 10 months that I have not seen him. I looked at him and I knew that some way I would have to win him back. He was my guy.

"Horrendous. I was not prepared for my architectural project but im glad that its over. How is Viramontes?"
"Its growing on me. I was maybe considering moving downtown but I havent made up my mind"
"I see. "
"Melody have you thought about me at all? Because honestly I have missed you like crazy and I had to literally get rid of my phone so as not to call you. I dont know if you met someone or thought differently..."
"Joshua, I ... I am so happy to hear you say that. The minute we said that we should take a break I regretted it."
"whew! That was close. I thought you were going to tell me that you met someone and forgot all about me"

When we got back to the dorm I told him that I was going to check my grades. I came back knowing that graduation was secured. I was now a college graduate!I ran in to tell Joshua when he got down on one knee and proposed. I could not believe that he actually proposed to me. I of course said "yes, Joshua..Yes I will marry you!"

He then told me that he had spoken to my dad and he had given his permission for my hand. I could not believe Joshua would do that for me. I am so in love and happy that im graduating college.

Graduation day was spectacular. Cory found out about my engagement and gave me a half heart-ed congratulations. My mom, dad and little brother came to see me graduate. My little brother was happy and said that he couldnt wait to graduate from here as well.

Joshua was so happy that I was done with school and now our next task was getting married and finding an apartment for both of us to live together.

Dylan Barillas--Chapter 2

My husband and I are both content now that our household is now finally getting its last renovations. Many people did not believe that we would have the same style but yet we do. I still can not believe that at this stage of the game I have found my true love.

I know that Dylan comes from a large family. Therefore it was no surprise to me when he suggested that we have his family over for dinner. I agreed. I have not seen his triplet brother and sister since he and I got married.

I finally had the opportunity to meet Dylan's aunts Amarilis and Meadow. I am happy to see that this family is OK with having gay family members. In my generation this was not the case but I hope that in the future many can be like my in-laws.

Dylan and I have been talking about our legacy and we have to offer. I never really wanted children. Especially at this age I think its a little too late. Dylan however is starting to wonder if we should try to have a child. I am not too keen on it so I said that it was best for us to live our lives alone without kids.

But Dylan would not stop telling me about wanting a kid. I could never deny him anything so I finally relented and told him that he can try to have a child. We tried several times and we were successful. I would have never imagined that in this day in age two men or two women could have babies with out the help of the opposite sex. True I am a surgeon but I am purely Internal medicine and have nothing to do with the reproductive side of things.

Before I knew it we were parents to not one but twins. I knew the possiblity of having tripletts because Dylan himself is a triplet. I guess I am lucky to have just twins. I have also put my foot down on having anymore children. This is as many ... well twice as many that we have already. We have a baby girl who we named Salma and a baby boy who we named Lionel.

Carson Barillas--Chapter 2

College has been quite boring for quite some time. Things started to look up when I met a beautiful woman named Vanessa. She came as a transfer student and I just saw her and fell hard. I managed to talk to her during class and she kept up her part of the conversation. I think that she might accept going on a date.
I think that college in my Junior year might finally look interesting.

***********Senior Year****************

Yes we are finally seniors. Vanessa has the thing for Eastern dresses and I am rather taken with it. We are finally going out together and we manage to study and do research together. With graduation looming upon us we were nervous trying to get everything in order. It looks like Vanessa might move downtown or go to Viramontes. I have been thinking a lot about her and I realize that I really love her.

I told my parents to come down to campus to get to know Vanessa. Sure they have heard a lot about her but they never had met her. They managed to come down and we met up for dinner.
My moms were happy to meet her and they both winked at me in showing that I had great taste. Trust me there was never any doubt.

During dinner Vanessa asked how my parents met and how they were married, divorced and getting remarried again. I myself am still in shock that my parents are getting remarried after my mom Consuelo swore that they would never get together again.

Vanessa couldnt get enough from my parents. I knew that it was the perfect time.

Before we left, I proposed to Vanessa. My moms were so happy and my mom Maura was about to burst. She is such a romantic. Vanessa and I are so happy now that were engaged.

Back in class Vanessa was more than excited and scared that she would not pass the exam. I myself was confident that we would both do fine.

On graduation day, Vanessa and I were ecstatic that it was finally over. We were young adults free.

Now Vanessa and I will head back to Viramontes and getting our wedding plans set.
