College years: Audrina, Lizandra and Lauren Barillas Part II

3rd year
Audrina and Orlando are finally a sophomores. Lizandra, Lauren and Alon are Juniors.

Things between my sister-in-law and her husband Orlando have turned from great to worse. I have never seem them argue like they do now. It seems that every day they are arguing about school. Orlando told me the other day that he has had enough of her.

Audrina is enjoying her third year here with us in school even though she's a sophomore. I still cant believe that everyone does not have it together. Who knew college could be so hard?

It seems that Lizandra and Orlando may have finally called it quits. I over heard Lizandra telling Orlando that she was not going to stand by and watch him flirt. Who knows whats breaking them up. Could it be that hes cheating? Or is it that he is academically behind all of us?

I and Lauren are doing great. We have opposite class schedules so we try to have dinner together as much as possible. When we are not together then I am focused on getting my school work done.

After so many months without dating anyone Audrina finally opened up and met Justin hart. He is a nice guy but somehow I think a little too nice for Audrina's taste. Much as I figured they went out only once and she said he was not her type. I wonder who is?

Turns out she likes the older type. Before we knew it she was dating professor Mitch Bear. I don't think there will be any repercussions to it but wow that's bold.

At the end of our Junior year we were happy because Lauren found out that she was pregnant. We have not told anyone. The last few months have been so busy that we are all on academic probation. Did I not say college was hard? It seems only Orlando passed this year. Go figure the least studious.
sophomore year

I finally managed to talk to Orlando and he was ecstatic that he was on the same level as all of us now. He laughed when he said it was funny that he was now a Junior and we were not seniors. I didn't notice what a jack ass my brother-in-law Orlando could be.

Lizandra is now hanging out with another dorm mate. She is not saying anything about her and Orlando. They still sleep in the same room but we all think is to keep appearances.

It seems Audrina is in love or shall I say lust. Orlando tried to join a greek house and this Ashley Pitts guy came and Audrina was blown away. He too fell for her because he has not stopped calling the house for her.

Finally Orlando let all of us know that he and Lizandra had settled on a divorce. Lauren was feeling ill so she did not hear this news. Audrina was in shock as I was. Iknew they had problems but I really did not think they would get divorced. I wonder how my mother-in-laws will take this news.

This is not the only break up. Audrina bid farewell to her professor Bear. He said he understood but if he only knew the real reason she broke up with him.

It turns out that she is on with Ashley for now. They are dating and she looks happy.

I am happy for the most part. Lauren is showing now and I can not wait to have our daughter or son. Turns out that all this stress has caused us our college dream. We both did not make it pass our probation period. I am sad because now we have to wait and apply for a different college program.

We are not the only 0ne's the left. Lizandra couldnt take her marriage any more especially since Orlando announced it to the whole dorm that they were divorcing. When we were leaving she showed up with her bags and announced that she was dropping out of college. The only two that stayed was Audrina who is academic probation and Orlando who is still a junior.

Oscar Joshua III, August and Julio Barillas -college years

Oscar Joshua III (18) his cousins twins August and Julio (18)
Freshman Year:

August has decided to stick not declaring a major unlike August and myself. For now he sticks to himself because he's still fawning over his ex girlfriend.

Classes can be a little harder now that we are in college. The worst it having the responsibility of doing everything ourselves.

This also means keeping in shape. I have no idea how my cousins stayed so out of shape. They are both amazed that I work out often. I finally convinced August to join me.

All is not just working out. We also manage to get in some research time with some of our dorm mates. For now we are all still getting to know each other.

I'm glad that freshman year is over. I just hope that Sophomore year is better than this one.

Sophmore Year

We went to the new bar in town to celebrate that we were finally sophomores. Well the only one that was upset was Julio since he didnt pass his final.

His new friend Guy met him at the club to console him. I think theres more there but Julio refuses to admit anything.

Everytime I get back to the dorm to get some food I see them talking. I heard them talking about actually moving in together. I hope they dont because like this Julio is barely passing the year.

August talked to Julio and told him that he was there. Julio felt a little embarrassed because he was failing and he needed to prove his family he could do this.

I myself started trying to talk to Cherry at the bar. She is working part-time to pay through college. I think shes beautiful but she doesn't give me the time of day. She's busy trying to be an up and coming lawyer.

Finally Julio is a sophomore. Even my uncle Ian and Aunt Debbie called him to congratulate him and wished him the best. I hope we all can learn from this year and well do well next year.

Freshman Year:

All of them minus Orlando sat down together to try to grasp this whole college thing. Orientation was over and now it was time to get down to business. Audrina proposed that every year they sit down and make sure that everyone graduates together. After all Audrina, Lizandra and Lauren are part of a quad. Alon smiles, nods and then agrees that they should meet often. They live in the same dorm but they each have declared different majors. Lauren has declared herself a Psych Major while her husband Alon has decided on Economics. Audrina has declared a Politics science major. Lizandra is a lit major while her husband is still undeclared.

Lizandra and Orlando seem to be involved in love and displaying it any chance they get. They are into being in bed more than making it to class.

Audrina manages to meet some guys but her plan is spoiled when her brother-in-law Alon comes to join them. She was aghast that he actually wanted to do some research.

At the end of their senior year, not everyone was happy with their grades. Lizandra saw Lauren and was devastated. It seems that Orlando failed and she was now a sophomore while Orlando would be a freshman. All in all Lauren understood.

Sophomore Year:

They have all been trying to get together to discuss grades now that they were all sophmores but to Alon's surprise not everyone made it. Lizandra came into the cafeteria and informed him that both Orlando and Audrina were on Academic Probation. This was awful and Lauren could barely finish her food.

Again Orlando did not meet them since he was over this college thing. Audrina was upset and promised to study harder. For sure she would not be graduating with them. She was now a year behind.

Hearing the news Consuelo and Maura decided to take a trip to their old college campus. Both of them were nostalgic to see their old dorm. They saw their daughter Audrina and hugged her. They told that she just needed to put forth some effort and it will all be OK.

Jacquelyn also came for the trip. She wanted to see what she was missing in choosing not to pursue college. Lately she has been thinking if she made a mistake but she would never admit that to her parents nor her wife.

At the end of Sophomore year things did seem to take a serious turn. Only three of them met to discuss grades. Lauren and Alon were looking at Lizandra and were hoping that the marriage between Liz and Orlando would make it. Lizandra has been stressed knowing that Orlando is studying more and getting tutored..but at the same time he is ignoring her more. Hopefully Lauren's marriage wont suffer negligence now that they were Juniors.

Yes we finally made it to college. In the beginning, it was my twin brother Aaron always moping around for his wife Heather. I really don't understand how they are supposed to both finish college but they are. I think that its best for them to work things out. Before I knew it, it was all of us living here together. All of us in this small crowded house and trust me its crowded.

at first it was fun seeing my brother become an actual parent. I do not think both of them did not know how it was going to be. Now that my moms are not here to take care of the kids..well its a whole different ball game. Do not get me wrong. I love my nieces and nephews but I also love my peace and quiet.

I have no idea how Heather does it all. The burden of the quads seems to fall on her than my brother. The other day I caught her studying at 5 in the morning.

Contrary to Heather I was another story. I barely could keep up with the studying and going to class. The noise with the kids was so unbearable at times.


I had enough and I told him and Heather that I was going to go back home to visit for a while. After all it was the end of our sophmore year and I was ready to get the hell out of this house. Aaron looked like I was going to go and snitch on him to our parents. I didnt think that at all. All I wanted to do was to go home to peace and quiet!

Melody Sofia Barillas- Chapter 3

I am back in school and im finally a Junior. I thought that this day would never come. I have to admit that my studies are going better than I thought I would.

I am still learning how to do more than a robot in my electronics class. At first I thought it would be so simple but trust me, its not. I will be glad next year when all my classes focus more on architecture aspect.

In case you were wondering, yes my study research time is still active. I am still studying with Cory Barrett who is also a Junior. We have more freshman coming in and they are happier than we were. Right now I am focused on graduating on time.

In our architecture seminars we have to post our work in order to see our progress. I stood before my freshman work and I am amazed at how long ago it was. I cant believe that Senior year is almost here and then it will be me living in the real world.

Finals are tonight and I have been crunching to finish my research paper for architecture seminar. I know my paper is good but I want it to be better. I cant wait til this year is over with. Its so stressful being in college!

Ruben and I are still dating each other. He has graduated and it seems that we are drifting apart. He has managed to find a place in Viramontes but he has not found a job. I do not know if this is what I want. He comes to visit quite often but it seems that our worlds are so apart.
I told him this and he figured that I needed space. It almost seemed that he was reading my mind. He told me that he would give me Senior year to explore and to make sure that our relationship is what I wanted. I thought this was considerate of him but at the same time I think he too wants his freedom. I guess for now we just take a break. I hope that I am not making a mistake.

I decided that I was not going to think about Joshua and I was going to concentrate on my studies. Why is it that now that I am single I wish I were not? I remember thinking how I wanted not to have someone bothering me when I am writing my papers. Now I wish my phone would just ring. Oh well.

Cory invited me to go to the park and get some air. We have not talked about our relationships since we got back to school. Our main priority was to get our coursework done. It seems that he is single as well. I dont know why or how I got the nerve but I told him how I had a major crush on him Freshman and Sophmore year. He was shocked to hear it. He liked me too but figured that I would not be interested in someone like him. Are you kidding me?

"I can not believe that you liked me Melody. Do you think that this could maybe I dont know. Maybe we can try to see if the spark still exists?"
"I dont know. I mean now its different."
"Do you still like me?"
"I guess. I thought differently then than I do now."
"Or you werent in love with Joshua then as you are now"
When he said that I just got quiet and suggested that we leave to get back to what else? Studying.

When we were leaving he caught my hand and swung me towards him. Before I could even stop him he was kissing me. Did you ever feel that you wanted to outlive something you thought about for ever? I thought that this would have been the dreamiest kiss I had. It was so bad I had to hold my breath. What to do? I couldnt yank myself away. When he was finally done I just said, "We have to get back. "
"Are you sure Melody"
"Yes, Cory I have a paper due."

Finals were rough. I never thought that it would be this hard. I had a three building project due and my paper was getting thin from my erasing and rewriting on it.
Some poor guy looked at me and I almost snapped at him. I needed to concentrate and not have him staring at my project!

Finals were over and we were waiting for our grades. I have never been so nervous in my life. Cory managed to corner me and asked me what was wrong. He wanted to ask me out and see if I was moving back home or staying on campus. I still could not believe that I ever thought I would like this guy.
I told him that I was not looking to start anything serious. He got a little upset but I just wanted to get out of there. Later I got to my room and Joshua called to see if I would meet him to talk about us. I was so nervous when I said, "I would love to meet you".

We talked about everything. I was amazed at how much he had changed. It had only been 10 months that I have not seen him. I looked at him and I knew that some way I would have to win him back. He was my guy.

"How was Senior year? "
"Horrendous. I was not prepared for my architectural project but im glad that its over. How is Viramontes?"
"Its growing on me. I was maybe considering moving downtown but I havent made up my mind"
"I see. "
"Melody have you thought about me at all? Because honestly I have missed you like crazy and I had to literally get rid of my phone so as not to call you. I dont know if you met someone or thought differently..."
"Joshua, I ... I am so happy to hear you say that. The minute we said that we should take a break I regretted it."
"whew! That was close. I thought you were going to tell me that you met someone and forgot all about me"

When we got back to the dorm I told him that I was going to check my grades. I came back knowing that graduation was secured. I was now a college graduate!I ran in to tell Joshua when he got down on one knee and proposed. I could not believe that he actually proposed to me. I of course said "yes, Joshua..Yes I will marry you!"

He then told me that he had spoken to my dad and he had given his permission for my hand. I could not believe Joshua would do that for me. I am so in love and happy that im graduating college.

Graduation day was spectacular. Cory found out about my engagement and gave me a half heart-ed congratulations. My mom, dad and little brother came to see me graduate. My little brother was happy and said that he couldnt wait to graduate from here as well.

Joshua was so happy that I was done with school and now our next task was getting married and finding an apartment for both of us to live together.
